Plug plants

When buying garden ready plants, its important to understand plug sizes and what to do with them.  The vast majority of plugs will be annual plants to create seasonal displays in flower beds, borders, hanging baskets and pots. These can loosely be split into "summer" or "winter" categories, but in truth, many may flower for six months or longer. To help you understand the different types of plug plants here are the descriptions below: 

 


With most plug plants these should be grown on until they are large enough to plant out. Only the garden ready plants are  robust enough to be planted straight out into the garden and generally are not available until around April time. .
